Optimal Oil Levels Maintained Automatically
Timken® Interlube Systems Limited introduces RS-Automatic Oil Replenishment System
Timken® Interlube Systems Limited recently launched an automated preventative-maintenance solution to help customers in the transportation industry – or any market where engines are used – lower operating costs, increase engine efficiency and improve bottom-line profitability.
It’s called the RS-Automatic Oil Replenishment System, and it helps fleet operators maintain optimal oil levels in a wide range of engines – enhancing engine efficiency, improving uptime and minimizing emissions.
“Finding a balance between too little and too much lubrication in an engine tremendously affects fleet operator’s overall operations and bottom line,” said Trevor Roberts, technical sales, Timken ILS. “Too little and there’s the potential for engine damage. Too much and there’s the risk of oil and fuel over consumption. If an engine is damaged, it generates downtime expenses, as well as repair costs. But, checking oil levels manually with a dipstick takes a disciplined staff as well as time and energy.”
The RS-Automatic Oil Replenishment System allays these concerns by continually monitoring an engine’s oil level and, when necessary, automatically supplying a measured pre-set volume of oil from its own reservoir to top up the engine’s oil. It eliminates the need for dipstick checks, not to mention unnecessary downtime.
“Preventative maintenance through automated systems like the RS-Automatic Oil Replenishment System is the future,” added Roberts. “It’s also the best way to generate substantial savings. Maintenance time for oil checks is reduced, a full history of oil consumption and type of oil used can be recorded and monitored, and therefore less downtime for repairs.”
RS-Automatic Oil Replenishment System Features
- Oil level check initiated on engine ignition
- System health check performed on every start-up
- Complete memory function
- System status monitoring
- Real-time fault diagnosis
- Full history of oil consumption
- Prevents incorrect oil top-ups
- Oil is of a consistent quality
